As a student, I fully agree with Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences as opposed to Alfred Binet's early version of the standard IQ test. I believe that addressing each of the eight different intelligences (linguistic, logical/mathematical, spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist), provides a more accurate representation of a person's strengths and weaknesses. From my survey results, I scored the highest in the interpersonal learning style. This doesn't surprise me because I am very good at communicating with others and working together to get a job done. I also scored high in the logical/mathematical, bodily-kinesthetic, and intrapersonal learning styles, which makes sense because I am a math major, I use body language when I talk to others, and I often set goals for myself. I scored lower in the musical and naturalist section of the survey because I don't have much interest in music or nature. The linguistic and spatial sections scored in the middle. As a future teacher, I recognize that every student has areas that they are stronger in than others and understand the importance of touching on each area in the classroom to benefit everyone.
